As for the wax, it can be used if you can separate it from the grubs.

Varroa mites prefer to lay eggs in drone cells. A drone frame is supposed to draw the mites to lay in with the drone larva. The frame is removed and frozen after the cells are capped, thereby killing the unhatched varroa mites.

Let's hope it attracts a few others. It could be a great help to the students and old timers, too, if we can get people to participate.

How many hives?

Started with 11 in the fall, still have 8.
Sold 30 + last summer. Plan to do the same this year.
I do removals and swarm collecting.

The pail must have a resealable top.
Just drill a few 1/16 or smaller holes in the top, reseal it, and place it upside down on top the hole in the inner lid.

Yes, it is quiet. We are having trouble getting people to use the forum. Kurt and I do most of the posting. Hopefully it will increase as time goes by.

I don't use sc myself, but from what I have read, you must go from lc to natural cell, or 5.1 mm cell, then down to 4.9 mm from there. It is a two step process, normally taking two years. Yes, it is done ten frames, "1 box" at a time.
