My bees are swarming!

I've had 5 or 6 swarms this week! The reason I say 5 or 6 is the swarms in these pictures. A beekeep with 25+yrs keeping bees believes it to be 2 swarms. We hived both swarms but, later the same day the swarm collected at the "beebath" vanished. I kept 2 swarms, gave 2 away and lost 1 or 2...

Thank you for your opinion Wally, your advice is greatly valued. Would you transfer a laying queen with 3 or 4 frames of brood and bees from a nuc to a queenless hive this late in the year?

Requeening during mite treatment.

Is it ok to requeen a hive while being treated with Api-Life Var? Will the bees be less likely to accept her with the wafers on? Or should you wait until after the treatment?

I'm sorry it took me so long to reply. They are a swarm from the above hive (the marked queen from hive was with them) that landed under the hive and for some reason stayed. I hope to have more pictures of them to share in a few weeks.

He said they have survived two winters. This will be the third one if they make it thru. I'm hoping to get more pictures of them later this year, late fall/early winter. If I get the pictures I'll share them.

2006 Swarm!

A friend has some hives on Bakers mountain, (western NC). In 2006 a hive of his swarmed but, they didn't go far. They just moved below the hive they swarmed from(found his marked queen in the swarm). He just decided to leave them under the hive, hoping they would re-enter the hive. They didn't, they...

Hello Kurt: Thank you so much for the advice! I’m sorry I didn’t give you more detail about my queen castle. I have the queen castle set up as two compartments (4 frames + feeder) in each side, attached robber screens to front & back entrances and covered the two side entrances with screen. Righ...

What is a good way to over winter new queens?

I'm a 1st year beekeeper and I need help, I have 3 hives and 7 queens. 1 hive is a 2 queen hive separated by excluder,1 is in a nuc, 2 in queen castle. Assuming this remains the same. I am hoping to get them thru the winter. With fall almost here and winter soon after, what can I do and what kind of...
