New Home Page
I really like the new home page. A lot of hard work surely went into it!
For some reason for me, up on top where it says Guilford County, Gui is cut off. I was wondering if it is like that for others or just me? I've tried everything.

There are some brave ones who go it bare armed and I give them credit but I will need my gloves and hooded jacket indefinately, thank you.. I swell and don't need a ...

Big bugger- but that is pretty much what it looked like. That must be what it was. Never heard of them. This happened in my back yard not near the hives but I need to put my head cover on and observe my hives closer. Since that sting in the head I haven't been too close to the hives. The swelling of...

Two days in a row- What is it??
Has anyone seen what is a long as a large bumble bee but looks like a giant yellow jacket? Two days in a row I went out in my yard and this giant bee is flying at me. Could this be a queen of a yellow jacket tribe or what?? I've had one honey bee sting in the head and not looking for another anytime...

This time of year how much brood cell, drone cell do you think you're going to find? If there are any drone even in the hive in Sept. Should find a lot of capped honey. Queen cells? Not likely. This is my opinion but what do I know, LOL - I think this late in the year is not the time for the hands o...

Kurt, any date set for 2nd half of beekeepers test?
For those of us that took the beekeepers class this past Feb. were told the hands on part would be in Sept. I have some traveling plans to make and need to know when the testing will be so I can hopefully be there. Just wondering why it was not scheduled closer to the written test? It's been so long...

Feeding?
When I got my bees in May I asked Wally how long would I have to feed them. He said "A few days, feed them until they don't want anymore." This is July and my girls grew straws out of their mouth and never quit. They are sugar syrup aholics. Who in their right mind would pass up a free me...

You guys are a total riot... I don't know what I would do if mine ever get attacked but I won't sit with a movie camera catching it all. Those robbers will be taking me on too. So any robbers out there take a look at me before you attack my girls. I'm pretty big. I need to do some r...

OK - There's Something New to Me
What time of year does or can Robbing take place if not anytime? No need for some of us to worry about something if it isn't the right time of year for it.
You experienced keepers do you ever close the entrance to stop bees from coming in and the bees inside could be killed by the hive guards?

Let me pass this little tip along -
Since I'm new to the bee world I have been doing a lot of reading etc the last 8- 10 months. I have Carniolan. I've read where our girls occationally enjoy a little swim in others pools.. (For whatever reason) - With a housing development across the road from me and one known swimming pool I decide...
