New Home Page

I really like the new home page. A lot of hard work surely went into it!
For some reason for me, up on top where it says Guilford County, Gui is cut off. I was wondering if it is like that for others or just me? I've tried everything. :?:

Hey Ski, I sure do have more. They are 150 lb sacks so they are big and are nice but I burn them and they work fine for me. I'll bring them to the meeting in Jan. If anybody else wants some let me know, I'll take extra.

Hi Coffee, Thank goodness I did have a EpiPen and by the time the ambulance got here my epipen kicked in and the swelling was going down. The EMS observed me and took my vitals etc but the EpiPen did the trick, it just didn't stop my face and eye from being swelled shut for 2 days...

Big bugger- but that is pretty much what it looked like. That must be what it was. Never heard of them. This happened in my back yard not near the hives but I need to put my head cover on and observe my hives closer. Since that sting in the head I haven't been too close to the hives. The swelling of...

Two days in a row- What is it??

Has anyone seen what is a long as a large bumble bee but looks like a giant yellow jacket? Two days in a row I went out in my yard and this giant bee is flying at me. Could this be a queen of a yellow jacket tribe or what?? I've had one honey bee sting in the head and not looking for another anytime...

This time of year how much brood cell, drone cell do you think you're going to find? If there are any drone even in the hive in Sept. Should find a lot of capped honey. Queen cells? Not likely. This is my opinion but what do I know, LOL - I think this late in the year is not the time for the hands o...

Kurt, any date set for 2nd half of beekeepers test?

For those of us that took the beekeepers class this past Feb. were told the hands on part would be in Sept. I have some traveling plans to make and need to know when the testing will be so I can hopefully be there. Just wondering why it was not scheduled closer to the written test? It's been so long...

Feeding?

When I got my bees in May I asked Wally how long would I have to feed them. He said "A few days, feed them until they don't want anymore." This is July and my girls grew straws out of their mouth and never quit. They are sugar syrup aholics. Who in their right mind would pass up a free me...

OK - There's Something New to Me

What time of year does or can Robbing take place if not anytime? No need for some of us to worry about something if it isn't the right time of year for it.

You experienced keepers do you ever close the entrance to stop bees from coming in and the bees inside could be killed by the hive guards?

(For whatever reason) - With a housing development across the road from me and one known swimming pool I decide...
