inspection

It's 73 right now. I can't stand it this hot so early, but it's good for the bees. Two of my hives are exploding with activity, with lots of yellow pollen coming in. The top super of one is completely full of honey, so I put another super on. I agree with Kurt that there may be some early swarms. Th...

Warm day

I distributed a 5 lb batch of fondant among 3 hives today, and there was some moderate interest in a plate of pollen sub I put on a cinder block. Took a quick peek back in the hives around 5 pm and there was good activity on the fondant and I saw some capped honey in the top super. The weather looks...

Where's a good place to buy soy flour and brewer's yeast? Earth Fare?

I'm going to make some today and put it out tomorrow when it's going to be quite warm.

At some point, it will get cold enough to freeze and presumably the sugar will precipitate out of the solution. How do the bees c...

The status on the website lists the order as on "permanent hold." I guess I'll call them on Monday and see what the deal is.

Nucs from beekeeping class / Brushy Mountain

I attended the beekeeping class back in February and March and ordered / paid for one nuc. Should I expect a call when they are ready? A bigger issue is that I ordered a bunch of stuff from Brushy Mountain about a month and a half ago, and it still hasn't arrived. I would love to have the equipment ...
