It has lessened if not quite entirely. So I think things are well. I put a new baggie feeder on last night and from the little time I was in the hive things seemed active. They had stuck one corner of the baggie down to the frames. But it was no problem to change out otherwise. Lots of pollen-laden ...

Sounds interesting for a novice beekeeper. I saw a picture a couple of weeks ago in the High Point Enterprise of one of the people there using honey drizzled on top of the hive rather than using smoke. Has anyone done this? Does it work as well as smoke?

This weekend my son Luke, 8 years old, and I checked to see how our new package of bees was doing. We noticed that there were a lot of brown spots on the hive shortly after installing the package. Mentors for new beekeepers

At one point during the 2010 class, a list for people interested in having a mentor was passed around. Has anything happened with that list? It would be great to meet briefly with someone prior to installing a package for the first time.
