I just got a call from Summerfield about the arrival of a swarm. It is about 18 feet up on the side of a house and may be moving in to the soffit. I gave the caller the name and number of the youngest member of the swarm list who covers that zone. I don't see anyone trying to go up a ladder to reach the bees, but to see if the member was willing to give it a go. I told the homeowner that if they were there in the morning and had not moved into a cavity in the soffit, I would see if I could get them to go on some old comb using a comb clip and extension pole. I told the owner I was afraid that the bees may have already found an opening, and that if the queen had entered, it would involve removing bees from a structure rather than collecting a swarm.
