I just received a text and video from a beekeeper asking for advice about hiving a swarm that apparently came from one of her hives while she was at work today. It appears to be very large, located at the bottom of a fence post, and she has a deep hive up against the cluster. It appears that a number of bees have entered. I advised her about swarms wanting to get some distance from the hive of origin and gave her some suggestions about how to try and anchor the bees in. I was a bit surprised because the weather today kept most of my bees largely in their hives until late this afternoon.
