Following Board plans

Post by bdloving »

any1 know of a site that would have plans for a Following Board? I was re-reading Honey in the Comb from Dadant and the picture in there is very hard to make out.

Looks like an interesting idea to try.

If you mean follower board, it is nothing more than a sheet of plywood or paneling cut to go beside a frame to keep the bees from getting into the other section of the hive.

If following board is correct, I am not familiar with it. Could you post a link to it?

Follower board - a thin board the size of a frame that can be inserting into a hive to reduce the space available to the bees. This is done to help smaller colonies that may have trouble keeping the brood nest warm.

I would cut a piece of plywood and nail a board on top to act as the top bar.

Fairly easy from what I can see.

Hope this helps
