55 Gallon Drums

Post by Jacobs »

I got a 55 gallon drum from Brushy Mountain to use as a water barrel. It's label shows the content to be 280 kilos of honey from Brazil, produced July 3, 2008, with an expiration date of July 3, 2010. Does this mean that I should not put water in the barrel and on July 3rd, 280 kilos of honey will appear?

On a more serious note, I did pull and extract 1 medium of honey yesterday, my first. Not quite 280 kg.

$14.95/ barrel, includes a top and a sealing band. These are not new, but have been cleaned. They are described in the catalog. The price is fob Moravian Falls, and I would not want to think about the shipping costs. You may want to call ahead if you are planning to go up. I don't think they always have them in, or they may sell out from time to time.
