Does anyone know if there is a way of finding out when or if migratory beekeepers use our highways? Does the state inspector have this information? It would be good to know, and possibly give the companies that ride the highway a heads up..

Spoke with Don Hopkins

Post by Ron Young »

I spoke with Don Hopkins and found out some information. Bees coming through the state are un-regulated. The only way we would know if they were coming through is to see them, or if the beekeeper lets the state know.
He did put me in touch with someone else that is working to try and get some training out to the local jurisdictions that would aid in dealing with this type of situation.

I know for sure, If I am riding officer on a first due unit, I will be calling Kurt, and asking for lots of help.
