Are yellowjackets robbers?

Post by 4Paws »

Found a yellowjacket nest not to far from where my hives are located, will the yellow jackets attack the hives or rob from them?

Do they pose a significant danger to my hives?

Yellow jackets are scavengers. They clean up the dead and dieing. They aren't a significant danger to the bees.

I would still remove them from my yard, though.

Not sure about them being a robber or not, But

They may not have a robbing nature toward honey bees, but they sure stoled this mans car. This might be a real fixer upper, probably at a good price if your brave enough.
