Science Fair help

Post by Kurt Bower »

Irving Park Elementary school is looking for help with their Science Fair.
I have done this a few years in the past but will be unable to commit this year.

It is Tuesday January 12 at 6:00 in the school auditorium. We would love for you to bring your bees again to share with the children the fascinating world of theirs.

It unfortunately conflicts with our January meeting. I am curious about how you took bees to a science fair in January.

I'm curious as well!
How do you set up an observation hive in Winter,
without disturbing the cluster?
(which we all know is a big NO-NO)
Everyone has an opinion, this is mine.

I used to take one my weaker hives in October and make an observation hive out of it until spring.
It was a great way of over wintering a weak hive while having bees available for school gigs.
