Checking for queen release

Post by dwbicefam »

I **finally** got my first bees on Thursday, and installed them without any trouble, but now come the question of when to check to see if they have released the queen. I have conflicting info about the first inspection, anywhere from four days to two weeks, so I thought I'd check that opinions here in the forum (I know there will be some :D ) I'm in no rush, and I just want to do what is best for the colonies in general.
Thanks,
Cheryl

Remove queen cage from 4 to 7 days. Check for eggs from 7 to 10 days.
Depending on weather and when you have time.
