Field Day 2013

Post by Jacobs »

Our field day is Saturday, April 13th at Hagan Stone Park. Again, this year we will be at shelter 5, the large shelter with bathroom facilities and electricity. We are planning mini-presentations and a tour through a hive. The club will provide hot dogs, hamburgers and fixings. You bring desserts, side dishes, and beekeeping tales/questions.

Our official hours are 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, but we have the shelter for the day.

I am including a link to the Hagan Stone Park map--

Remember, there is NO regular monthly meeting in April. Field day is our meeting.

The shelter seats over 100, but if you want to sit out in the open, you may want to bring folding chairs.

Random dumb question: Will sunscreen make it difficult for me to get near bees without being stung?

If it is not banana scented you will probably be fine. If they fly around you, just move slowly, don't swat, and walk away and you are not likely to have a problem.
