Promoting beekeeping

Post by Wally »

Kurt and I have been in contact with the Guilford county corrections dept. concerning placing bees on the county prison farm to teach inmates beekeeping. I expect to meet with the head of the farm next week to begin setting up the course. If anyone would like to volunteer to help with the project, you are more than welcome. I would think it would serve as community service time toward obtaining your journeyman or master beek certification. In any event, I think it will be fun and educational for all involved, while giving the inmates something to look forward to after their release. You can contact me through the forum or at the monthly meeting if you want to help.
Thanks
Wally

Wally,

I found this course outline that I thought was thorough.
If you want to use it or something else I would be glad to help with gathering and assembling the information.

When would this class take place Fall, winter?
