Swarms-4/16/16

KHansen's hive swarmed this afternoon and I went and helped her collect it. There was a nice cluster of bees about at about 41/2 feet up in a neighbor's tree. They were easy to shake into a swarm bucket and put in a hive. As I was getting her call, I received a text about swarm number 7 (David has 2, I have 2, B_Lee has 3) in the same trees at the back of a very nice lady's yard. This one was high enough that I could see her neighbor's yard and their 3 hives right by the fence where these trees are located. I don't know if the beekeeper is aware of what is going on, but the next time he or she goes to the hives, a drop in population will have to be pretty obvious. I estimate this swarm at about 3 lbs.
