I got a call a little after lunch today about this swarm that was partially on the ground and partially on an apple tree about 20 feet away. They had been in these locations since Saturday. The homeowners called a person they knew who kept bees, but didn't have any equipment. When the bees did not move on as they had been told, they got my number and called. I vacuumed the grounded bees and shook the tree bees into my swarm bucket. Once I shook the vacuumed bees into the swarm bucket I gave them a light misting of sugar water. I wasn't sure how much food reserves they had and wanted some feed on them as quickly as possible. The combined bees came to a little less than a 3lb package of bees.Swarm-5/1/18
