Ski, you bring the hive of bees to the meeting and I'll bring the fogger. :D

As I said before, it takes about 3 minutes. Not enough to bother with a meeting presentation.

As far as I know now, I'll be around Sat., but one evening would be fine, too. All can come at once, or one daily. It doesn't matter to me.
If one wants to come, learn, and borrow the fogger to treat your hives, then bring it back for the next one, that will work, too.

L&H, Saturday is fine for me. Ski?

I know what you're saying Ski. It would be great to get this info and practice out to anyone who might need it. I think going through one year of practical experience with an established beek or a couple of hives at the ag centre would be great for all of us. Then maybe I would have known that there is an inner cover and what it's used for when Wally asked me at my test  !! Who looks after the hive at the ag centre? Can we come early before a meeting and check it out and talk about what we see, what should be done next? That might be fun!

I am interested in visiting other beeks yards and seeing just how they set up and do everything, as everyone has their own ideas. Maybe we can do a thing like they do for visiting house gardens or fancy houses by organizing a weekend tour of locals and sell tickets (cheap!) to supplement our next picnic. OR to buy an extractor to rent out...there's an idea! I would coordinate that! We could call it...OPEN HIVE WEEKEND

I don't know who takes care of the hive (one that I found) at the Ag center. (Maybe Kurt???)
I found it by going through the plant garden (not the vegetable) they have there right behind the barn. Its a nice garden and bigger then I thought it was.

I like the idea of visiting other bee yards that might be a lot of fun. I liked seeing the pictures on Beesource of other bee yards so visiting would be neat.

I feel very privileged to have a beekeeper like Wally spend time and teach us things that we may MAY figure out after many trials and errors. We are a lucky few.

I'd like to do it early morning (9am at Wally's) if Wally's available too. Then I can have the rest of the day with the family. We should try and coordinate riding together too.

Fine with me. Any time is OK. Just make it easy on yourselves.

Second thought.....Tuesday night is bee meeting. Should we announce it there and see if any others want to come??? Than do it the following Saturday?
Just a thought..

I will have company the next Saturday and will be visiting the NC Zoo. TJ, 9 is good for me. I live about 8 minutes from Wally. The way you would be coming it would be more driving for you to come to my house than if you went straight to Wallys. But I sure would like to ride in that car of yours with the top down. Maybe just go check out the bees at the beach. Maybe that is where all the bees are going. I will plan for 9 unless I hear something different. 8)

Beach bees! That's really cute. Hey, I'll give anyone a ride anytime except when its raining. The kids love it and that's pretty well why I got it. I get a headache from the wind in my ears, so I don't put it down much by myself.

Ski can't make it this Saturday, and I know that I said Saturday morning 9am, but, do you mind if I bow out? My son just came with his fiancee and they'll be here into the weekend. I will try and make an arrangement with Wally the week after the bee meeting. I do have mites in my 2 hives, 5 in one and 9 in the other in a 24 hour drop, so they're okay for now.
You're lucky to be so close by Wally, it's beautiful out there.

I'll be at the meeting Tuesday and it should be a good one! Hope to see you there, TJ

Well, L&H, if it's only you, do you want to drop by here tomorrow evening? We can go thru fogging all the hives in 10 to 15 minutes and then be free for the weekend.

Yes, the bees in the garden behind the Barn kitchen at the Ag center are actually the associations bees. One of our best kept little secrets. They are currently tended to by Emerson Heatherly. We have had several caretakers over the years.
And yes L&H we carry a full line of products at the market. Even more than online. We are going to update the website this summer to hopefully reflect all of our products.

Wally lets just go with your other plan of making an anouncement at the meeting and maybe having a group there. This will give me the chance to go see Kurt at the Farmers Market.
