Hi - I homeschool one of my children and we are finishing up a science chapter on social insects. We are interested in taking a field trip to a beekeeper to see first hand what we have learned. I also have a group of ladies that is interested in visiting as well. Is there a resource for this in Guildford County? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you! Kelsey Dumoulin

I'm about 5 miles south of Guilford County, but would be glad to open a hive and show your group around.

Actually, we are in High Point, so that would be fantastic. I was hoping next Tuesday, but let me know what might work for you. Thank you very much!

That's too far out to get a weather forecast. This Friday is calling for 80 and full sun. The bees would be friendliest then, if you can make it. Otherwise, we will have to wait and see what the weather is like. The warmer and sunnier, the friendlier the bees.
I'm retired, so most any day is fine with me.

I/we can't do this Friday. I was looking at weather.com and the weather is really looking great for the next week. Let me confirm with my schedule on just a couple of things and give you some dates. Thank you so much for considering letting our group come. Can you tell me how many hives you have and if you harvest the honey? Thanks!

OK. Send me a list of times you can come and we will let the weather choose which time is best. I only have one hive and a tree trunk full of bees at the location where we will be visiting.
I don't keep bees for the honey as much as to raise more bees, but I do harvest some from time to time. Harvest normally takes place in June.
