weak hives?

Post by drewgrim »

Got into my hives today. they are all looking ok but not ready for supers or anything, most of them are about a hive body and a half full. is that strong or weak for this time of year?

I gave them pollen patties in feb. and have been feeding them as much as i can.

is there anything else that i can do to get them ready for the flow? it would be nice to get some honey this year...:)

That sounds strong to me. Remember to check your pollen frames and move them outward if needed. Now is swarm time. Be sure there are plenty of empty cells or foundation in the brood area.
