Waxy Film

I saw this on another forum, thought it was the funniest thing and could not resist posting it here.
As a solution it was suggested that the hot water heater be turned up above 140 degrees to be above the melting point of bees wax and a few cycles run back to back.

The post title was: A stupid stupid thing
A month or so ago, we removed some bees from our porch roof to a quickly built hive with donated frames. Because of the following reasons, I wanted to sanitize and clean up the frames:

-The frames were filthy
-I didn't know what the conditions were like where they came from, and didn't want to spread disease
-I'm new at this
-I'm not brilliant
-I'd never heard of propolis
-It works for candle holders
-I'd read of people cleaning frames at the carwash

I put put the frames through the sani-cycle on my dishwasher. The frames came out cleaner and not warped, but I think I've ruined the dishwasher. Every thing since comes out with a waxy film that can be wiped off with a dishtowel, but what a pain. Is there anything I can do? Can this dishwasher be saved?

PS: The bees are thriving!
