Storm damage tree cutout stolen

I had a call Wed to get bees out of a log in Burlington. A large branch fell into the home owners driveway and the street Tues night. The city worked up the limbs and rolled the log into the ditch Wed morning. I spent most of the afternoon splitting open the log and putting brood comb in frames. After finishing I set the hive in the mans yard 5 or 10 feet from the log and left it so the bees could secure the comb to the frames before transporting it home. Today I went by to check them and everything is gone. This is just plain bad luck but I guess any way you lose a hive is bad.

Mike,
Someone stealing a hive is not bad luck that is just sorry *** folks that do not respect other peoples property.
There is a nice write up in the Times news on the cutout so, congratulations on making it into the newspaper and keeping bees and beekeepers in the news.
