queen excluder

I have two new hives that were started this year with 3 lb packages. My question is should I use a queen excluder or not. I would appreciate any comments about the subject. Both hives appear to be doing well, but I am new to beekeeping this year.

My advice would be..... Not this year. Study excluders until you know if you want to use them or not. Not using them does no harm. Using them wrong can cause harm.
