Brushy top feeder

Post by B_Lee »

Rob and I checked my hives today and let me say, staying in contact with your mentor and having them come out to you hives is invaluable. Thanks Rob!

Below you'll see a picture of my Brushy Mountain top hive feeder. This is the "new and improved style." If you take a look you will see a lot of dead bees. And saw a number of small hive beetle larvae in syrup. I have a Dadant style feeder as well that uses floats and didn't have any amount as close is what I've seen here.

Is anyone else had the same issue?

I think I've had <12 dead bees in mine over the last week. Of course, both of mine have leaks, which is a whole other problem.
