My neighbor who lives in front of me is having 15 trees cut down tomorrow. Most of the trees are not close to by bee yard, but one of the trees is about 15 feet from three of my hives. I think the tree can be feld without hitting my hives because it is already leaning away from them. My question is how upset are the bees going to be with the chain saw going all around? I thought if we could cut that tree first, they are getting started arond 8:30 in the morning, before they get too active in the day that would be the best. Should I close up the enterances or just let them fly?

My guess is unless the bees are already ticked off, you should be fine without closing up hives. In taking bees out of trees/logs with Wally, running the chainsaw and cutting right up to the comb does little to upset the bees in most cases.
