Sourwood flow

Post by Kurt Bower »

Was wondering if anyone has been to the mountains lately?
I have bees up there and was wondering if perhaps the bloom on sourwood was gong a little longer than usual? Since our spring flow went late I thought sourwood might be affected as well.
Any observations would be helpful.

I thought I saw a fair amount of sourwood blooming while driving back and forth to the NCSBA meeting in Wilkesboro the middle of this month. I don't know how helpful that will be to you but I figured it wouldn't hurt to post it.

I was in the Boone/Banner Elk/Blowing Rock area 2 weeks ago and the sourwood was still blooming.
