Hi - I live in Greensboro and have what I believe to be a honey bee hive in a hole in a tree in my yard. It appears to be jammed packed with bees. I would assume it is overcrowded too because each morning I find 10 - 15 bees dead or almost dead on the ground under my outside door light. I found this website and thought this would be a good place to start trying to see if there are options to have these bees removed? Any feedback and help would be appreciated.

There are ways to remove them, but it is too late in the year to save them. Either they stay where they are until spring, or remove them and they die. Come March or April, they can be removed and made into a prospering hive.

Who can remove them for me? Are they people out there willing to do it?

In the spring, yes. Now, this late in the year, it would just be removing them to die. A beekeeper won't do that.

After thinking about it, you may find a beekeeper to remove them now and add them to an established hive for the winter. If so, he may charge a lot more than he would in the spring. If you have to have them gone this fall, post back and we will see if we can find someone.
