Drones Getting the Boot

Post by Jacobs »

I am seeing drones getting a frosty reception in some of my hives this morning. We and the bees are well into our winter preparations.

I am seeing more dead drones in front of hives than usual here at the house. I hope this is not a predictor of a harsh winter ahead.

I went through two hives with a couple yesterday and never saw a drone nor drone cell. They had already cleaned house.

I found 'spoons' in my persimmon seeds last week...so they seem to concur with the drone-based prediction of a severe winter.
