hydrangeas and bees
In the mountains this summer, I noticed that honeybees were all over 3 large white hydrangea bushes. However, I don't know what variety of hydrangea this is. I want to get one for my yard because that could be another food source for them in mid summer. I know the ones in the mountains weren't oak leaf hydrangeas. (I have one of those, but bees don't seem to care for them too much.) Does anyone have any idea what variety of white hydrangea this might be that is so appealing to the honeybees?

I know nothing about hydrangeas, but I can tell you bees work sourwood much harder in the mountains than they do here. I hardly ever see a bee on my sourwoods. Considering that, you "MAY" find that the bees won't work that type of hydrangea if it is growing here.
