Bees in a tree

I have a co-worker who has bees in a cedar tree that I would like to try and trap out. My question is.....when could I start the trap out process? Should I wait until April, May, etc.....?

NOW!
There are drones in the area, which is the only criteria needed. There are fewer bees now and the SHB are not so bad.
The only change I would make is, put the egg frame AND BEES ON IT into the bait hive to keep the brood warm until the trap starts working.

He gave me the ok to do it this Saturday but I am a little concerned about the temps. 62 is the high. Maybe I should wait till the "heat" of teh day to take the frame of eggs and bees out before heading over to the trapout? Or would you suggest a slightly warmer day? Thanks for your advice btw!

I would go over and make the setup, but not mount the cone. When it was he warmest time of the day, I would mount the cone and then go home and pull the eggs. That way there will be a large number of bees looking for a place to go when you set the frame of eggs in.
