Stadiem called about another of the splits we made from his bees. Another of his splits split itself and headed to the same holly tree as the first one. David and I went over with the ladder, generator, bee vacuum and swarm bucket and collected a 2-21/2 lb swarm. I took them to my house, hived them up and put on a queen includer since Stadiem's bees are right at a mile from my house. Once the swarm has settled in we'll move them back to Stadiem's.

I can't wait to see your post about today's swarms. It should be the size of a book.

I wish more people would post about swarm activity so that we could get an idea of just how active a swarm season we are having. I haven't seen one like it.

I have not seen a swarm or received a swarm call yet. I have just enjoyed reading about the swarm adventures on the forum.
My neighbor has had one or two swarms which he hived.
As far as I know my bees have not swarmed yet. But I have a swarm trap at an out yard and about 3 days ago there were a couple of bees checking it out. Yesterday there were about a dozen bees and today there were 20-30. So I would expect a swarm there tomorrow, maybe.

I haven't been as busy as Rob or Wally but over the last 4 weeks I have pulled in 3 swarms from trees and one finally moved into my swarm trap.
