Volunteer Beekeepers at the NC Zoo
Volunteer beekeepers are always needed to staff the permanent Honey Bee Exhibit. Training is provided to all volunteers and has been developed cooperatively by NC Zoo Volunteer Coordinators and the NCSBA.
The orientation/training is brief but thorough and will consist of specific methods for using the signs and interpretive elements on the exhibit site and ways of engaging the public and encouraging discussions. The necessary protocols for safety, security, exhibit access, and parking are also included in the training.
Training / Orientation Session for 2017 is Saturday, April 08th. If you would be interested in volunteering at the Honey Bee Garden Exhibit, contact Judy Pick or Jano Lewis to sign up.
Please contact the NCSBA Zoo Volunteer Coordinators — Judy Pick at jimjudy9@aol.com or Janno Lewis at jannolewis@gmail.com. They can answer any questions or concerns and assist you in signing up.
