Nice catch Mike. The last 2 calls I have received were bees entering buildings with drop ceilings. I am hopeful in each case that all the bees trapped in light fixtures were scouts (after having lifted panels and looked as best I could) and that a good spray of Fischers at the entrance points will discourage further occupation long enough for the building owners to get the places sealed.

If we all trained our bees to behave as well as you have yours, we would get fewer of the calls like I got. (For non-beekeepers--I am just kidding about this part.)

I'm not sure which home making magazine or show the bees are watching this season, but I got my 3rd call for bees exploring openings in an office building/home with a drop ceiling on the inside. I responded as quickly as I could, hoping to dissuade scouts from continuing to explore this site. I also responded quickly since the office is Karen Neill's office at the Ag Center where we meet. I did leave a bait hive at this location and will wait to see what happens. Also, I checked our remaining hive at the Ag Center, and although building nicely, it does not appear to be in swarm mode. . . . yet.
