I have a little honey I want to feed my bees is there s best way? I thought I read diluting with water would work not sure of the ratio though thanks for the help

It may be difficult to get the bees to show interest in your honey until after the nectar flow slows or stops. I use diluted honey water in my "nectarometer" (jar feeder with 2 sided access) to gauge nectar availability in my area. Although it is not a good mix (too dilute) bees will come to and take a mix of 5 ounces of honey in a half gallon of water in a dearth. I just put 3 ounces of honey in a pint of water to see if that would interest the bees--NO activity at all. If honey is about 18% water and nectars have a wide range of sugar/water content, you can play with approximate percentages to see what works. AFB spores can be in honey, so I wouldn't feed from a source I did not know.
