Bill, Great factual information on the status of honey bees. I have been one to believe the hype of their demise; and of course, putting the blame squarely on the Monsanto type companies. Definitely pleased to learn bees are not 'endangered'.

Things are not as rosy as the article may seem. Winter losses of colonies are far higher than historic losses have been. Beekeepers have been making major efforts to split colonies and replace losses. We back yard beekeepers can manage this and keep going. My question is how long can the commercial beekeepers/pollinators that our agriculture has come to depend on keep taking losses and stay in the business?

The article "Neonicotinoids and bees: follow the money." is almost rescinding the rosy picture of the of this article. Makes me wonder who each author was affiliated with. - Bill's reference to follow the money.
