I came home from the Arboretum early yesterday afternoon to hear a loud buzz and see the last of a cloud of bees gathering at the back of my yard. I wasn't sure if this was 1 or 2 swarms, but they eventually united in the hive at the azalea bush. I wound up giving them another 10 frames and the bees finally went in the hive for the evening. I have regularly sprayed 2 convenient locations where I hoped swarms from my hives would cluster. This wasn't one of them, but it is just fine.

I went and picked one up for Keith today near Hobbs and friendly. About 2 pounds.

Yesterday was a busy day! Had a friend report a "cloud of bees" flying in our neighborhood on Friday, and finally got a call early yesterday morning that they were spotted clustered on a bird house in Sunset Hills Park. Thought it was going to be an easy capture, until I discovered they were also packed INSIDE the empty bird house. Got lucky and was able to scoop them out by hand and get the queen in my box in the first scoop or two.
