I got a text from Dennis at the Greensboro Arboretum about a small swarm a few feet from my bees. I don't know if it was the after swarm of a hive that had been in full swarm mode, or a swarm from the other hive that I had removed the old queen and some bees from. I got the queen in a clip, brought the bees home and released her into a nuc. I'd estimate this at about a 2lb swarm. I am getting loads of small swarms at this point. Once I know that queens are laying and I can evaluate patterns, I may make a serious effort to combine bees and see if I can convince them to hunt up some honey instead of traveling the world.
