I had one call from a ""very intelligent"" lady asking if I would charge to drive to Charlotte and retrieve a swarm.
A fellow beek here in town had a swarm from his one hive Thursday. I hived it for him.
No other calls so far.

Thanks
I gave her Scott Derrick's name and number. I guess she called him. She never called back here.
My first swarm

I hived my first swarm yesterday. Unfortunatly, it was an after-swarm from the split that raised a queen. I suppose that she hatched, did not like her surroundings, and left. I have always wanted to see a swarm issue, and it is truly a sight to see. WOW, what a mass of bees in the air. It was like orientation flights multiplied many times over.
My big question, should I be worried about any further after-swarms from the split. They are now about 1/4 of what I started with in early march.
