A few dead larvae, turned brown
A few dead larvae, turned brown
Hi, I have a frame from the bottom of a full brood chamber that is drawn out and shows some pollen and nectar and a few eggs and some developing larvae. The larvae (about 6) have turned brown and died. There is not much other larvae around it. There weren't many workers on this frame when I pulled it and I think the larvae have just been neglected and died. That being said I am a novice and want to know if I should have any concerns about foulbrood. Is this normal? Do I leave these larvae and let the workers clean it out when they get to this frame? Would it be safe to move inside the brood area for use? Or should I be more concerned and remove it and destroy the foundation/frame? There were also some hive beetles roaming on this frame but none on the other heavily occupied frames, so I'm thinking neglect. Thanks for your help.
