There is a tree laying on the ground in Liberty. It has a hive in it. If you want to go get it, the landowner's phone number is 336-622-2716. Give him a call and sharpen your chain saw.

Wally,
Just talked with Mr Coble in Liberty. I am going to meet him around 7:30 in the morning and try an extraction. If that isn't possible we'll cut a section of the trunk and bring the whole cotton picken mess home. Needed some firewood anyway. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Wally,
We were able to remove the colony from the tree early this AM. The tree had broken up into two different parts and bees were in both parts. One part with mostly workers were about 12 feet off the ground so I vacuumed them up first. I feel as the queen was with this group. The main log on the ground had lots of older very dark wax comb and a ton of drones. Very little brood and honey. Many bees killed when main trunk hit the ground. The property owner was having timber harvested and a felled tree hit the tree that contained the bees. One logger said he was stung multiple times and the bees chased him nearly 800 feet. Good Exercise!!!!
Thanks for the lead.
John
