Cotton?

Post by Wally's Angels »

I know someone told me once but now I can't remember and my kids are driving me buggy asking soooo.....

Do the bees get any good bee food from all of the cotton flowers? Is cotton a bee pollinated crop? :?

I'm having terrible trouble with my memory lately and the kids are dying to know.

Thanks in advance.... y'all have bailed me out more than you know.

edited to ask: if they make honey with cotton does it taste like a t-shirt? :P

ps.... Taeler's hive has a new queen and looks incredible! You would never guess looking at them now how much trouble they were in a few weeks ago.

Thanks bunches Wally!!! The kids are gonna be so excited when i tell them the bees will make cotton honey. I wish you could of seen the kids chasing the bees this morning all the way down to the neighbors field to figure out what in the world they were working on so diligently. All 4 hives just zip and zoom from before the sun is completely up til dusk for several days now. We wondered what was going on when the bees were snubbing the syrup we put out for them.

I'm also really relieved to find out it's not a terrible tasting honey too...... ya know, just in case they make some extra!
