Addition of third hive body?

I have a friend who does not have access to this forum who has a colony that has 95 % filled two medium hive bodies. Three questions:

Is there a chance of a swarm this late?

Will the addition of a third hive body this late in the year weaken the colony and leave a possibility of predators? i.e. wax moths, SHB, etc.

What are your recommendations?

Thanks,
John

I would add the box. I just did yesterday to one of my hives.

Then check it weekly to see if they are drawing or if the pests are moving in. This time of the year either can happen.

As for swarms, I have seen them in Sept.

Thanks, I was too cautious and told him to hold off till I asked questions.
