Brewer's yeast

I was asked in a PM where brewer's yeast could be bought in 50 lb. units.
I would think this or any homebrew supply store would have it.

Triad Homebrew Supply Incorporated
105 Guilford College Rd
Greensboro, NC 27409

(336) 294-1550

I tried to confirm it, but they are open Tues. thru Sat., closed Monday.

For those who don't want the hassle of making their own pollen substitute, Frank Wyatt, who spoke at the Greensboro beek meeting, will be at the Randolph County beek meeting on Jan. 2nd, and selling the Global pollen patties after the presentation, as he did in Grensboro

Now is the time to plan for feeding pollen patties, as Jan. and Feb. is when they will need it most. Many hives weaken and/or die in Feb and Mar., due to depletion of stores when they start the spring build up.

A couple of questions: 1)How much are the patties? 2)How many patties per hive? 3)Can you "over patty" the hives? 4)If they don't consume the entire patty can it go bad? 5)Are they tasty??? Can we eat them???

The patties from Frank are 2.00 each. When I sell them, I get 2.50 each, so you can save by going direct.

In warm weather, the shb love them, so you must feed only what the bees will remove in a week. In cold weather, I don't know. I use 1/3 patty and check weekly.

I have tasted them accidentally. They aren't that bad.
