If you are not aware, the Africaned bee is in Florida now and will most likely be heading our way.

Kurt, They found AHB in FLA. while I was still living in MS. I left there in 1985. We may still have a little while to wait.

Agreed and the longer the better.
My only concern is that they are now colonized.
Were they colonized back then?

They found them on boats and docks. I refuse to believe our great government workers found 100% of the swarms arriving.
So my guess is a few swarms got by and colonized

How many years do they estimate before the bees make it up to good ol' North Carolina?

I have heard of them being further north than here, traveling in packages and having to be requeened. You may get them this spring if you buy packages or queens from the south.
