This sounds like a good deal.
I may try and get a banner made for the Guilford County Beekeepers

http://www.buildasign.com/tailgate
Cost should be around $15.00

Just a simple:

Guilford County
Beekeepers Association

What do you think?

I think it should be a little LESS simple. The cost will be the same, whatever you have put on it.

I don't have any art work in the proper format that I would like to see on the banner to make it less simple. SOOO anybody that wants less simple please provide suggestions and support for art work or words that will fit in the banner. I will be glad to order it or you can. What ever makes the most sense. :)

A few examples. Now let's hear from others. Maybe even a contest among members. Can it be brought up at the next meeting?

Guilford County Beekeepers association

Beekeepers helping beekeepers

Promoting beekeeping for the young and not so young

Promoting beekeeping for the good of all

Information and education for novice and experienced beekeepers

Beekeeping for the good of the community

I guess I do not have a good feel for how big the lettering would be if you put "Guilford County Beekeepers Association" on one line.
Sure lets bring it up at the next meeting, maybe someone will know more about banners in general.
The special runs until Dec. 31

Maybe Guilford at 45 degrees on left top, County at 45 degrees on right top, beekeepers across bottom, leave off assoc?

Other wording in center?

Played with it a bit more and it will accept more then two lines of text. So yes we are wide open for whatever we want to put on it.

The 45's may be doable but I don't see how with the tools on the web site. ALSO..Please indicate the color of the banner and the color of the lettering.
I was thinking of the 3 foot x 6 foot banner.

The Guilford County flag is light blue , dark blue with white lettering.
My suggestion would be dark blue banner with white lettering. Also with beekeepers spelled correctly lol.

Another thought.... more then one person can place an order so we can get more then one banner with different lettering.

I have had a few simple banners made in the past.
What I find interesting is the cost.
My banners (approx. 18" x 10', 1 color vinyl, 1 color lettering) cost around $100.
My biggest concern would be the quality.
But for $15 what the hey!

What happened with the festivals this year. I did not hear about any. Did I just miss out or was the club not requested this year like last.

Not quite sure what you mean by festivals for the club?
Please clarify.

Festivals like the Farmers Appreciation day and it seemed like a few others that the club was requested to cover last year, that I did not hear about this year. Maybe I just did not have my ear to the ground.

Perhaps there was not a Farmers Appreciation Day?
There are always other opportunities and other requests.

Festivals are just a fun change from speaking to groups. I am not really looking for additional speaking opportunities right now. I have 3 schools within 5 miles of the house.

Kurt,
If we get some participation can we vote on what else to put on a banner for the club at the next meeting or for that matter vote on the ones that Wally posted.

Get all the ideas together including visuals. We can present at next meeting and vote in January.

The sale is over December 31, so would like to get as many one liners as we can and decide at the next meeting and then get the banner on order.

Wally had some good ones. Can anybody add to the list.

Beekeepers helping beekeepers

Promoting beekeeping for the young and not so young

Promoting beekeeping for the good of all

Information and education for novice and experienced beekeepers

Beekeeping for the good of the community

The banner came today by UPS. I am not a banner expert but I think it looks pretty good. Material seems to be fairly heavy, its overlapped and double stitched on the edges and there is a grommet in each corner. The lettering is fairly good a little fuzzy on the edges, not as crisp and clear as it could have been. But the for the money I think we got a deal. It looked good in the family room but my wife said NO It will not be up for thanksgiving. lol
