top bar hives

does anyone on here have any experience with top bar hives? i would like to see a working setup.

I have made and kept bees in a top bar hive.
Truthfully, Unless you are really short on cash this may not be a good idea.
These hives are hard to feed and difficult to treat. I do not believe that they live as easily in them as a Langstroth style hive but have no eveidence of this.
I can show you mine, but It probably has wax moth damage from last year.

My hives have an internal 1 qt. feeder. As for treating, don't get me going! I believe we should all be working towards developing bees that have resistance to mites, etc. Colonies that have problems ought to be requeened from USDA hybrid stock. Selective breeding is the only way out of our present CCD dilemma and it is something we can all participate in. How else will we build up the wild bee population? Just sayin'.....
