Today we picked up our nucs of Russian bees. Thanks to Carl Huffman for delivering them to the Guilford County Ag center.
My daughter helped me install the new arrivals in to their new hives and she did a fantastic job. She not only found the queen in the first nuc, but pointed out a new bee emerging from its cell as we finished installing the second nuc. The second nuc had eggs and both open and capped brood, so both hives are queen right.
The installed frames were all heavy with honey and some nectar. We are off to a wonderful start.
