Swarm catch 3/30/22

Post by reedyfork »

Yes, it finally worked! I had sprayed a low flexible branch in my magnolia with Swarm Commander a couple days ago (like I've done for a few years now), hoping that one day it would actually work and a swarm would land there for easy collection. Sure enough, I got home this afternoon and there it was! I have no idea yet if they are my bees or not, but either way they are now successfully in a hive and can start drawing out foundations for me.

It's always nice when a plan works out. Other bees were busy as well. I got 2 calls yesterday and gave both callers 3 names and numbers from the swarm list. The first was at Dudley High School. They let me know Jack Fleming was coming to collect it. The other was near Bennett. I don't know who went, but did not hear back from the caller. I assume he reached one of the people I gave him to call.
