The Price of Honey

Post by Pharmacyman »

This is my 3rd year backyard beekeeping and up to now I have just given away my honey to family and friends. This year and going forward I would like to sell to those who want my honey. It may help recoup some of the high cost of beekeeping hardware and supplies.

Is there a NC site I can go to see what is a fair price for honey in our state? I imagine price may be different depending on what state you live in. What is a fair price for a pound of honey around here? I also bottle in pints. What is a reasonable price for a pint of my honey?

Beez Needz sells honey locally. Why not drop by there and look at his prices. They must be fair, as he sells a lot.

I've had no trouble selling mine at $13-14/lb the past few years, but I've heard of others getting as much as $15-16/lb. Like most things, it probably depends on your clientele.

Kaira Wagoner's post just showed up on the NextDoor app. She is offering honey 8oz-$8, 16oz-$15, 32oz.-$26. She does not list pints (+/- 22oz).
