Replacing frames

Post by ski »

I started with 5 frames of large cell from a nuc in a deep hive body. 4 of the frames are small cell foundation and one frame is a small cell starter strip. The 5 frames from the nuc are large cell and at least 2 years old.
If I wanted to get the 5 nuc frames out can I take the frame from position 1 slide / shift everything over and put the frame from the first position in the 10th position? Then when the first nuc frame makes it to the first position replace it with a small cell frame. Assuming there is no brood on the frame.

If this is a reasonable course of action how often should/can I shift the frames. Once a month at this time of the year?
